Our relationship with community organizations is invaluable and we take the opportunity very seriously. Whether or not OneUnited Bank can support your organization or event at this time, we wish you the very best and look forward to building a relationship with you.

Each day OneUnited Bank receives many requests for contributions and sponsorship. When choosing sponsorships, we look for events that uplift our community and our business. One of our business goals is to finance affordable housing in urban communities, which requires us to build deposit relationships with families, organizations and businesses within our community. We seek sponsorships that foster lasting and meaningful relationships.

Literacy

OneUnited Bank strongly believes a good education can result in a better life. We, therefore, want to support organizations and events that focus on improving literacy in our communities, including adults and children of all ages.

Financial Literacy

OneUnited Bank embraces the opportunity to contribute to organization that seek to improve the overall understanding of banking, home ownership, saving and investing, all with the goal of building a better and brighter future for urban communities.

Affordable Housing and Community Development

Because OneUnited Bank realizes the importance of home ownership and it's impact on building stronger communities, we welcome the opportunity to assist organizations that focus on affordable housing and community development.

SPONSORSHIP GUIDELINES

Your organization must meet some basic criteria in order to be eligible for a contribution from OneUnited Bank.

  1. 1. Your organization must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Tax Code.
  2. 2. Your organization must benefit low-to-moderate communities within the markets that OneUnited Bank serves (Boston, Los Angeles, Miami and Lauderdale Lakes).

If you meet the criteria listed above, you must complete the Contribution Application. Once you submit your application, our leadership team will review the applications and respond in a timely manner.

ONEUNITED BANK RECOGNITION

To encourage other African-American owned businesses to contribute to urban communities and distinguish us from other financial institutions that have contributed, OneUnited Bank requests ALL organizations that receive contributions from us give us recognition as the largest African-American owned and managed bank in America. This recognition should take place in a newsletter, program and in remarks made at the event. We monitor this recognition as we make future contribution decisions.

BASIC CRITERIA
  • You must submit your request 60 days or more before the contribution and advertisement (if applicable) are due.
  • If you are requesting a contribution for more than $500, you must submit your request 90 days or more before the contribution deadline.
  • If you receive funding from OneUnited Bank, we ask that you not submit another request until the next fiscal year.
ELIGIBILITY

Unlike many financial institutions, OneUnited Bank welcomes the opportunity to make contributions to religious organizations that meet the same basic criteria.

OneUnited Bank does not support the following:

  • Individuals
  • Political Organizations
  • Travel-Related Events
  • Organizations that discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, social class or anything else discriminatory in nature.

Please include the following information in your application, or use the enclosed OneUnited Bank Contribution Application.

Your Organization
  • Organization Name and Complete Address
  • Chief Executive Name & Title
  • Contact Name, Title, Phone Number, Fax Number and Email Address
  • List of OneUnited Bank employees that are involved with your organization
Funding Request
  • Amount Requested
  • Deadline for Contribution or Advertisement (if applicable)
  • Program and Project Name
  • Program or Project Goals
  • Attach Letter of Agreement or other documentation
Organizations Finances
  • Total operating budget for current fiscal year and previous full year.
  • List all of your organizations sources and amounts of revenue for the current fiscal year.
  • List other foundations and corporations for which you are soliciting funding for this project.
Other
  • Please list the potential benefits for OneUnited Bank
  • Include specifics about what is included in your media package, including: advertising opportunities, signage, special events, PR, etc.
